To be successful, candidates and political groups have to reach voters and consituents through a number of channels. Metro has a long history of working with political candidates and groups for direct mail, television, handouts, brochures and web development. In 2010 Woofer Davidian took advantage of all of Metro’s capabilities to create a memorable, integrated campaign.
The navy blue color and serif typestyle were chosen to present the professional and serious tone of a judge, and the lighter blue color and signature were chosen to communicate approachability. The color and type made the signs stand out in the sea of other campaign signs.
A series of email solicitations were sent as invitations and appeals. Metro designed the emails, managed the lists and executed the campaigns.
Metro created the concept and shot, edited and placed the commercials. A Youtube channel was created to distribute the video on-line, and to easily integrate into email campaigns.
The site was developed to promote Woofer as professional and approachable, focusing on relaxed and engaging pictures as well as a “note” from Woofer. Prominent contribute and volunteer buttons and a Facebook feed promoted user interaction. Social media, SEO and pay-per-click advertising drove traffic to the site.
A custom facebook page was used extensively throughout the campaign to promote events and fundraising. A “41 for 41” campaign, tied to Woofer’s birthday, raised over $1,700 in one week. Facebook ads built recognition—over 1 million of Woofer’s ads were seen during the campaign.
Metro promoted the “WooferPalooza” fundraising concert with invitations, posters, t-shirts and a facebook push.
A series of strategic, targeted direct mail pieces were designed, printed and mailed throughout the campaign.
